Not much is happening here at the moment.... we are in the middle of our winter, we are actually having a winter after almost ten years of not much rain, they reckon that the drought here is broken, which is nice, and hopefully soon we can go off water restrictions.
Not much happening with drag racing locally, Friday night drags at Calder Park was rained out and test and tune at Heathcote was rained out too ( for a change).
The cortina has been tucked away under her covers up on stands and having a well deserved rest. We bent a tyrod arm on the passenger side and it has taken us a few weeks to source another one as it is a Mark 1 Cortina part, and Mark 1 parts are getting harder to find apparently. So hubby will be putting that in this week and it will be off to Erics to re align the front end before we go racing again.
The pistons for the new Mopar finally arrived a few weeks ago and the Boys at Moe Engines are putting her together as I'm typing this so it won't be long till it is ready, it's gonna be good!!!
We are spending the weekends riding the dirtbikes and keeping warm, even went to the snow the other week too.
We have a race meeting on 25th August - Ultimate Drag Challenge 5 - we have lots of cars entered, mainly old tin with 9 and 10 sec engines, a few 8 sec cars and maybe a few 7 sec cars too. I am hoping to get quite a few girls racing, there will be a few 10 sec and 11 sec cars running driven by girls, so the boys had better watch out! ha ha ha.
The other exciting thing is there is another Lady running 9's. She has a holden gemini full chassis car running a 502 cuber chev engine, she was at heathcote a few weeks ago on a test and tune driving the new beast for the first time, so that makes only two of us girls running nines in Victoria...... as you can tell I am excited to have another 9 sec chick to race with! he he he he. Look out boys!
In the coming months we have the Ford Nationals, Holden Nationals, Cruizin Magazine Hot Rod Nostalgia drag racing, Rubber Fest and lots more events, so by September, the Corty will be getting a good work out! I will try to take as many photos as I can between the tow vehicle and helping crew for hubby.
Next Weekend I am going to the 1st birthday of a speed shop and there is going to be alot of hotrods showing up, I will take the camera and get some shots and post em up.
