My Viva has an annoying flat spot on wider throttle openings. It would die right out if i kept my foot on the gas, but if i dethrottle, then gas again, it goes. It seems to be getting too much air. Ive tightened the manifolds and carb bolts but no different. It has a Solex 150CD carb which looks exactly like the Stromberg. I havent got a tool to alter the castled nut at the base of the carb. (Thats mixture aint it?). can anyone help? Im popping out for an hour or two but i can be contacted on DONT PUT YOUR MOBILE HERE YOU KNOB!!! pm people with it!!! Fank yew!!

I think Solex/Stromberg carbs have some sort of rubber diaphragm in them? From memory (I had a Shuvit years ago) they can go brittle with old age and tear, which buggers up the mixture. I seem to remember having the same problem, and changing that cured it. That was 1993 though, and mucho beers have come and gone since then!

Tried that. And new plugs, points, condenser, leads, cap, etc etc. Think its mixture cos as soon as the air filter is out it wont rev or idle and conks out.
