Or is that insurance? My keyboard cant spell... Wheres the best (meaning cheapest) place to insure a "larger" classic? Im considering something with a bit of poke if the budget allows. Ive been using a 420 SL Merc as a guide and so far the cheapest quote was £339. I thought it sounded a lot considering a year ago i has a VX4/90, a 101FC and an MG Magnette all insured together for just over a hundred quid.

Have a look through something like "Practical Classic" as several different insurance companies advertise in there. Adrian Flux, Hertiage, Footman James, Lancaster, Firebound, Roadsure. They're all in this months.
We're with Heritage, I can't think what Mike pays, but it includes legal advice and breakdown cover, which we found very useful a couple of weeks ago.
ive always had a good deal with Aon , adrian flux and footman james [free breakdown with them] all under 100 quid. i was even lent a hire car when i had an accident with flux
I've got the Oxford insured with RH Specialist Cars, have always used them for my non-dailies. Even my old Range-Rover (Nissan RD28T powered) cost me £108 fully Comp with a 5000m limit (though I've insured five different motors with them and they've never asked me for a mileage reading....) and agreed value. The Oxford costs me £93 a yr for the same deal. And their customer service is first-rate too. Highly recommended.

Well, i bought practical classics and decided to phone Firebond. I asked for a quote for a 1990 Mercedes 500SEL value £2000. 3000 miles per year fully comp with roadside assistance and european cover etc etc. £122!!!!!! Bargain or wot?

That's pretty good. Did you read the article about Talbot Horizons? My folks had 1 of the first ones on the road, bloody awful car... scrapped it 10 years later and bought a Maestro, followed by 2 Puntos and then a Yaris. (Don't worry, I've had a bottle of wine tonite)
Mike was with Firebond, until it came renewal time and they didn't want to answer the phone.
Hi we have four classics all insured with Footman James, I have a 1965 viva Ha and a 1966 Humber Sceptre which cost £115.00 for the pair and my other half has a Rover SD1 Efi Vanden Plas V8 and a Rover 2.6 6 cylinder and they are both insured for £238.00, we have never had any problem with them when one of our other Vauxhalls got wrote off the paid out in full and we eventually sold the car for spares

We're with RH Specialist for all our classics, found them to offer the best deal if you have a few oldies - just charge a nominal fee to add and extra vehicle to the policy. Have everything from the Hudson truck, the F150, Dodge D500 to my little Terraplane.
I had a 54 A30 and a 66 Magnette on the same policy with R&H. £84 the two fully comp. It was nearly 4 years ago though. Ive yet to try them as their website is down so im gonna phone them today.
