Billing Flooded

Just had a call from mate who went to Billing this morning looked around and went back home again - the fields are flooded, much worse that the Hotrod weekend apparently. cry

There is even a sign on the entry booths saying have a look and get your money back back if you dont want to stay due to poor conditions.

Thunder storms just starting that area now too.

Sunday is forecast to be fine, but at mom only a handful of cars there.

May be worth a call Sunday morning before setting out if you're planning to day trip for Show Day.

I'm not suprised as the ground was pretty water logged 2 weeks ago.

It's also Hangin' Dice this weekend in Dorset, the weather pretty pants for that too. Can't go 'coz Mike's trying to fix the Humper this weekend.cry

You're absolutely right guys, Billing was awash this weekend. In the end it was all a case of damage limitation.

In some ways the finer weather on Sunday made things worse. Understandably people that had looked forward to the event for months saw the sun shining in the morning and came anyway. Trouble was even though they were warned of the conditions inside Billing at the gate, the vast majority came in. Then the fun started !!

A limited show was possible on the hard standing, but to be frank the volume of cars far exceeded the space available. Compounded by Billing management giving very poor support, the whole weekend was a battle.

I suppose living in a 'green and pleasant land' does have a downside.

We know all about that, having seen how their security team handled an incident near us at the NSRA event a couple of weeks ago.  evileye
