I wan't to persuade her to get a classic, that I can play about with.
I was thinking Morris Minor (any tips on what to look for Mitch), Ford 100e, Cortina, Volvo Amazon, hillman Imp, that sort of thing.
any suggestions? she'll need something fairly small, and easy to steer/park
I'm also tempted to sell my mazda to get something a bit older, but I'd need to have something reliable as it's go to do 22 miles everyday without breaking down.
Then If my truck isn't ready I'll still have something to trundle to shows in.
Just thinking, if she can't, and learns in a modern car, something like a 100E with vague steering, 3-speed box etc might be a step too far. Would absolutely ROCK though!
Out of that lot I'd say Minor, just because they're easy to drive, FUN to drive, easy to fix and modify, and the prices aren't as stupid as VWs and Fords. Volvo Amazon is also a quality choice - tough as old boots, and quite comfy too, maybe a bit big.....although visibility for parking is pretty good, and modern cars will bounce right off it in the car park anyway.
Mk1 Escorts are nice if you can get a reasonably priced one (not easy, but I managed it!). I'd also think about a Viva, dead simple and HCs especially are surprisingly good around town.

What the other 2 said. Moggys are great. Ged's list sums it up. You can buy EVERY part for them, if you cant get it at the local shop you can have it delivered next day. There is a massive following for them. They are cheap to run.....................bout time i got another one. Only get a 2 door though, the 4 doors are gay.
