Manningtree 22/4

Didnt get to meet too many of you today, but, god youre a miserable bunch.......

LMAO

Seriously though, some good friendly people in the turtlehead (hehe) group. Some great motors too. Enjoyed having a look round them, makes me realise how cr*ppy my car is biggrin Didnt realise just how many cars there are so locally either!! If any of the guys are passing and see me outside with the sceptre, the kettles always hot. Just introduce yourself and let me admire your classic/custom.
Thanks again for the friendly welcome.

Yes tailfin im only a stones-throw away so im told. Always welcome mate smile.gif kettles usually hot here.
Agree with deuce, a brilliant show. Ive never been to that one before, my wife and kids had a great time too.
Thanks to you guys for getting me on the field. I did as you advised and said "im with turtlespeed" smile.gif I had no pass in my windscreen and i never got asked to show one. My missus sneaked through a "hole in the fence" too 'cos the queue was so long she'd have been there ages. Tight*rse bugger.....hehehe
Weather was fantastic which helped no end. Glad it did stay nice, ive got no sunroof on me humber at the mo and i would've got soaked!! Must get that repaired tonight.

didnt get to meet you today Steve but i suppose its only a matter of time.
Tailfin says you live just round the corner so i'll find out where you are and i'll call round for a cuppa! And yes there are loads of customs/rods/yanks and classics in town, we usually meet up on route to the shows so keep your eyes peeled and meet up with us.

Yeah chuckypop, do that mate. More than welcome. I had a look over your pop, saw chucky in there and thought to myself "i wonder if, by any small chance, this belongs to chuckypop????
I use my sceptre quite a bit and the only cars i see are an old Husky (i think) van, kind of a dull brown colour, and a large convertible yank which may be another of tailfins perhaps??? Cant remember the model tho.
Hi Guru. Hopefully we can meet up at another show for a natter. Were you in the white traveller? I saw a couple of guys in there chatting.
You guys really do have some nice motors. Makes me want to give mine a bit of a custom job idea I like Mitch's idea of moon discs and whitewalls. I also like his chrome wheels that he wont let me have........biggrin Ill have to try and find some deep dish ford wheels and chrome them up. Some hope.
I did get offered some rs style ford alloys but to be honest they looked an a*se on the car. Too modern. Slot mags would be nice....hmmmmmm....

Slot mags with thin band white walls. thats what you need, easy to find slots too. Just buy moon discs and whitewalls, cant go wrong with them.
Oh, by the way Si isn't a Guru (even if he thinks he is) he's called Mr Popular on here, he's a Guru cos he's done over 500 posts on here, though your catching up fast!

Just got the sceptre at the mo. Picking up another Minor this week, the sceptre should be my wifes daily driver when its finished (better than a passat) and i'll use the moggy. I go through cars faster than Simon (mr Popular) goes through pork pies. The 3 in the pic at the bottom of my posts were all from last year along with a couple of others.

I go through cars pretty quick too. In the last year i had an A30, FC101 Victor, FE Victor VX 4/90, MG Magnette, Series 2A Landy, Singer Chamois and now the Sceptre. The only one i didnt get roadworthy was the Chamois. Toooooo much work needed so i didnt bother. Sold all the spares on ebay and sold the car on the Imp club site.
