rev counter wiring


Ok you fever cluckers out there, i recently bought a second hand rev counter off fleabay but havnt got any destructions how to wire it up. It has 1 red wire,1 black wire, 1 white wire and a green wire. Any ideas?? confused

Mine needs doing as well !
So ill be intrested to see how its done as ive never wired one up in all my years !
I no i need to take a feed of the coil which i have done .... Whats next ?

If you can wait till the next AHRA meet Rob Newman should be there.

If you havn`t got a light in it I`d suggest that the red is power in,black is the earth n the remainin` two go between the coil n the dizzy.

The red goes to ignition live,the black to earth,try the white on the dizzie side of the coil if it doesn,t work swap it with the green nothing will go pop.Once its working the last wire is probably illumination....

if its a yank tacho, green is normally coil/dizzy and white is normally illumination..
and as nick says, red is ignition live-----
black is ground...
