2nd Vic Training Day for women

Hiya All,

Have not been on lately, have been preparing for the 2nd Victorian Training Day that was held on Sat 31st March. What a day!

We had 30 girls enter with cars running from 9 secs upwards and there were alot of Personal Best times run and also alot of .40 reaction times as well.

AWMN ( australian womens motorsport network) runs these days across Australia and we have the best instructors in our sport to date.

Our Trainers were: Debbie Reed -  28 yrs racing - Top Alcohol driver, first woman to win a top alcohol event last year

Katherine Sichter- 8 yrs racing a modified dragster, just stepped into her Top Alcohol Car a few weeks ago.

Kath Stevens -  Top door slammer driver with the Brett stevens racing team

Evelyne Sholtz- Bike trainer, over 20 years exp racing side car and racing the salt flats.

The trainers instructed the girls on startline protocol, end of track protocol, rules, etiquette, and most importantly.... how to do a burnout!evileye

My husband finally did his nudie run as well, we had a bet last year that if i ever ran a faster time than him on the quarter, he would do a nudie run down the quarter mile! He took off everything but his socks ( did'nt want to burn his feet on the racing surface), I was almost wetting myself from laughter, but he stuck by his word and the bet is now even! I'll put up some photos when they come through. Hahahahahaha.  As far as I am aware, he is the only streaker to run the quarter in Australia????

My Husband also worked hard all week to put in the temporary Mopar engine so I could have another play. As some of you are aware I put a hole in the block and dropped a valve, so we got another block, new valves and a stroker kit and rebuilt the original Mopar, problem was I had 50 more horses on the line and 4;3 gears in the rear, so I ran out of puff 20 metres before the traps....... no matter still ran a 9.79 without revving the buggery out of it on the transbrake!

Got through the whole day without hurting the engine..... so to me it was a good day! The big cuber parts arrived yesterday at the engine builders, and our engine builder was just about in tears of joy looking at the bits, so in a few months we will take out the temp Mopar and replace it with the  true 408 cuber.

WOO HOO! we can't wait!

I will put up some piccys soon ,just waiting for Johnny to send them through to me, will chat to you all soon now I have my life back.

I have read the posts and your get together on the first of April sounds like it was a big success!

Cheers,

Mrs Moparsmile
Leanne
